Quick Protein Waffle (V, GF Option)

Although I am usually a fan of the nostalgic toaster waffle, sometimes I have 5 extra minutes to throw this batter in my Belgian waffle maker and it's always worth it- trust me!

Quick Protein Waffle (V, GF Option)

Time 10 minutes

Servings 1

Calories 190

  • 1/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour or Bob's GF 1:1 flour

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used Orgain Vanilla Superfood)

  • 1 tbs applesauce or pumpkin puree

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup almond milk (may need more or less depending on protein choice)

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Serving Suggestions

  • nut butter

  • bananas

  • berries

  • seeds: pumpkin, chia, hemp, etc.

  • chocolate chips, cacao nibs

  • dairy free yogurt or butter

  • maple syrup

  1. Heat a waffle maker to the highest setting and spray with cooking spray.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients then add the wet (almond milk you should add a little at a time) and stir until smooth! It should have the consistency of conventional waffle batter so you may have to adjust your liquid to achieve this.

  3. Pour it in the waffle maker and eat right away!
